Full Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Project Manager to lead self-perform commercial asphalt and concrete construction projects across Tennessee and nearby regions (Northern Mississippi, Alabama, and Southern Kentucky). This is a high-impact role with full project ownership and the autonomy to lead from the front. A company truck and spending card are provided, and relocation assistance is available, paid in 90/180/365-day increments.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all phases of assigned construction projects from preconstruction through closeout
- Manage budgets, schedules, quality, and performance—reporting directly to the President and ownership
- Lead project setup: budgets, SOVs, phase codes, submittals, and time coding
- Issue and update project schedules weekly, resolving issues as they arise
- Handle RFIs, change orders, submittals, and coordination/trade startup meetings
- Price scope changes, maintain updated drawings/documentation, and manage contract modifications
- Enforce quality and safety compliance with internal protocols and OSHA regulations
- Lead weekly job cost and performance meetings with field teams
- Track labor and production data, proactively solving on-site issues
- Forecast monthly project financials with accuracy and accountability
- Ensure all project closeout documentation and deliverables are complete and on time
- Act as the primary liaison with clients, engineers, architects, and subcontractors
- Support team growth and process improvement across the company
Requirements
What We’re Looking For
- 5+ years of experience managing self-perform asphalt/concrete construction projects
- 6+ years of total construction experience preferred
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction management/document control software
- Strong leadership, organization, and communication skills
- Proven ability to manage both people and processes with attention to cost and schedule control
- Self-motivated, problem-solver who thrives in fast-paced, team-focused environments
- Must be comfortable answering the phone and maintaining proactive communication with leadership
