About Us

Youth Athletes United is on a mission to spark a lifelong love for physical activity and sports in every child. Through trusted brands like Super Soccer Stars and Amazing Athletes, we deliver high-quality programming to kids across the country—helping them build confidence, learn life skills, and develop healthy habits from their very first sports experience.

With over 22 years of experience and the largest youth sports footprint in the U.S., we’re excited to bring our programming to the Greater Fairfax region, and we’re looking for a driven, adaptable leader to help us grow and thrive locally.

About the Role

As General Manager for the Greater Fairfax region, you’ll oversee all aspects of our local youth sports operations. From business development and staff leadership to customer service and program oversight. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, takes initiative, builds strong community relationships, and balances strategy with hands-on problem solving.

You’ll work closely with our directors and support staff, meet revenue goals, ensure operational efficiency, and actively represent our brand in the community. You’ll also be a key partner in driving growth, with increasing responsibilities as the business scales.

Key Responsibilities

Business Growth & Community Engagement

  • Identify and execute short- and long-term business development strategies
  • Build and manage partnerships with schools, daycares, rec departments, and community centers
  • Maintain a growing contact list and develop strong grassroots relationships
  • Represent the brand at events, school visits, and community function
  • Conduct regular check-ins and drop-ins with school directors—aim for at least bi-weekly visits to maintain relationships and gather program feedback
  • Complete RFPs and county/school forms as needed for program expansio
  • Support marketing efforts including outreach, social media presence, and promotions

Team Leadership & Management

  • Lead a cross-functional team with clarity around roles, responsibilities, deadlines, and expectations
  • Provide delegation and coverage support to team members when needed
  • Conduct regular check-ins, performance reviews, and address coaching or disciplinary needs
  • Oversee coach scheduling and placements in coordination with the support team
  • Ensure hours logged are aligned with meaningful work output; time tracking will be reviewed regularly for accuracy and accountability
  • Set a regular schedule for visiting school directors for check-ins and drop-bys—aiming for at least bi-weekly in-person visits to maintain strong relationships and gather feedback

Operations & Program Oversight

  • Ensure timely class scheduling, facility bookings, and weather or scheduling communications
  • Monitor program quality through class observations and coaching feedback
  • Work with executive leadership on admin and operational timelines
  • Uphold brand standards across all programs and customer interactions

Customer Experience

  • Maintain clear and professional communication with families, staff, and partners
  • Handle escalated issues quickly and professionally
  • Maintain high satisfaction levels across customer touchpoints

Requirements

Work Expectations

  • Staff are expected to work between 30–40 hours per week
  • Hours logged must accurately reflect meaningful work output, with time reporting reviewed regularly for accountability
  • Regular hours may include Saturday mornings (8 AM–1 PM) and occasional evening or event participation based on territory needs

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Background check clearance
  • Experience in leadership and/or sales (volunteer experience counts!)
  • Strong working knowledge of Google Workspace (Gmail, Calendar, Drive)
  • Saturday availability preferred
